Installing Fake Grass... a Tutorial

Today, we installed our fake grass!  I love my fake grass.  It is always green and pretty and I never have to cut it.
Here is a before pic.

The first thing we did is lay down landscape fabric, to battle the weeds.

Then we made a pattern from painters paper and masking tape.

We made sure to label the corners, Shed Right & Left, and House Right and left.

We turned the pattern over in the front yard on top of the grass laid out bottom up.

and cut it out, a couple inches over all the way around, so we could tailor it just right.

We went around and cut around the boxes, and tugged it here and there...

So green and pretty.

My Shasta Daisies grow waist high.

I'll post more pics as they grow.

:)

I found this amazing, simple, yummy recipe on Stumble Upon.

If you haven't discovered Stumble Upon, its super fun.

Some melted chocolate under the little fruit salad would be special!

Hummmmmmmmm....

Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme....and so much more to come!

This is my herb garden.  I love having fresh herbs available.

I also snuck in some broccoli, cauliflower and my favorite...brussel sprouts.

This year we are expanding the garden.

We started last year with one 4x4 foot and one 4x8 foot box.

This year we added two 4x4 foot boxes and one 4x8 foot box!
Here's a pic of my sweetie, Jim, putting in the drip irrigation.

We planted 6 tomato plants.  Italian, Roma, Grape, Rainbow, Tye Dye, and San Francisco Fog.

We also planted Arugula, Soy beans, Bok choy, cucumbers, Japanese eggplant, lettuce...

If you are around this summer and need tomatoes, come on by!!

XOXO
